Greenhouse Customer Comments ~ Page 16

I ordered the basic 450 greenhouse for my wife, she is the one with the green thumb. The kit arrived in good time and shape. It then set in the backyard for a few weeks until I felt brave enough to tackle this project.

Memorial Day weekend was when we assembled the kit. The instructions were easy enough to read, but I still did a little "head scratching" at times. I would like to see a set of instructions with step by step TEXT (along with the drawings) detailing the assembly.

We put the greenhouse on the south side of our home to shelter it from high winds. It receives plenty of sun. I opted to build the kit on a foundation of treated 2x4's leveled and staked deep into the ground. I then filled the inside with sand (lots of sand) and topped it of with stepping stones and rock.

We just had our fist snow today. There was 4" of powder on the top of the greenhouse and it's still standing tall. It's a pretty stout structure after you get all the "nuts & bolts "together.

Best thing of all?....my wife is happy (woo-hoo!)

She did say something about buying and expansion kit
though.( DOH!)

This letter is to express the joy we have experienced from our purchase of the Juliana Greenhouse kit. After surfing the internet for different offers, we chose The Works Corporation, in Boise, Idaho..

The service was excellent. Then to top it all off the Works Corporation was offering shipping charges free to us.

The only minor difficulty we have experienced has been in understanding the assembly instructions. What a happy home the Juliana found in our 8x8 foot deck, which coincidently was not in use. It just fit, like a glove. By the way, "Mother Nature is the Senior Partner".

It has given me more pleasure than I have ever expected. I care for my aging parents and I was looking for a hobby that would be fulfilling and also beautiful.

My greenhouse has accomplished both. My mother, who has Alzheimer enjoys going out everyday and help me care for my flowers. It has been wonderful therapy for us all.

Thank you so much. Kathy.

I decorated the Juliana for Xmas.

I found your web site and ordering process to be excellent, with delivery sooner than I expected. If there's anything that could be improved it's the instructions that came with the greenhouse. It took me longer than a weekend to complete it, but my wife has gotten a lot of enjoyment out of it.

Construction of my Juliana Premium 9.9 greenhouse was pretty
straightforward. It arrived later than I wished due to the backorder
situation, so I finished it too late to really use it for this season.
(The growing season is short in Alaska, and it was pretty much a solo construction effort.) But it arrived complete and in good shape, and with some features (like the continuous plastic 'mounting bead' strips to hold the polycarbonate panels) that I wasn't aware of and appreciated.

The pictures-only instructions were somewhat awkward. There were a few points when words would have helped, like how many screws to place into a channel before you tighten it down (to prepare for the later steps).

Also, I misinterpreted the symbol for the silicon bead applied from the tubes. The dashed line they used gave me the impression I should conserve the silicon and apply it in discontinuous fashion. I got partway through and realized I had plenty of caulk, in fact I was left with two unopened tubes at the end.

Weather delayed me in the latter part of summer. We often have rainy and drizzly days, so the aluminum channels always seemed wet and it took weeks to get the right conditions (and timing) to complete the caulking.

I purchased the premium model (even against your recommendation!) because I was concerned about strength vs. snowload and windload. I decided based on the cross-sections of the aluminum pieces I found illustrated on the website. I am pleased with the model, the design and the components, but I will still prop it up from the inside with a two-by-four just in case. We do get lots of snow, and I'll be curious to see how much heat accumulates in there come spring to melt it off and warm it up.

All-in-all I am satisfied with the greenhouse, the service I received
(you very quickly sent me the bonus GrowRack, and answered several questions I had during construction), and now I am anxious to see if we can just get something to grow in there! Thanks very much for your help.
