Greenhouse Customer Comments ~ Page 5

First let me say we are quite pleased with and are enjoying the Greenhouse we purchased through your Web site.

My experience with your web site was quite good. There was one problem, which your representative handled well. That was, your catalog information indicated that the listed thermostat was for electric heater only, when in fact it was required for the LP Gas Heater I ordered. This required a few phone calls back and forth, but no real problems.

I might suggest you add a little information to the various Greenhouse description regarding suggested accessories like the heaters, exhaust fans and shelves. When I selected these items I was guessing a little about what they were, their value, potential operating costs, etc. More information along these lines would make it easier to make the proper decisions on what to order...

...Installation of this particular Greenhouse model was straight forward and accomplished quite easily. Installation of the LP Gas heater was just a little more difficult and required purchase of additional piping and exhaust vent materials. Information explaining the additional requirements would have been nice to have ahead of time. I would also suggest a kit be made
available with the exhaust vent and a suitable method of penetrating the plastic sheet be made available with Gas heaters. A note that gas piping should be installed by a plumber in accordance with local codes should also be included ahead of time.

NOTE: thanks to Mr. Valenta's input we have completely redone the way the heating accessories are presented on the website. We have also put together packages so that it is easy to get just what you need.

We are still in the process of building our greenhouse, but we have reached a milestone of getting everything on the outside done (before snow flew!!!) - just benches, heating, electrical and water system left to go on the inside. We have been working on it on weekends and a few days off work now and then so it has taken us a little longer than maybe it should. (Also hunting and fishing season has interfered some - my daughter is an avid sportsperson!)

This has been an adventure for us. My daughter and I are going to start a small greenhouse business and this is our flagship building. We have done much of the construction ourselves - with a little help from husbands, but quite a bit by ourselves...

....We had a spot that was already pretty level (a mobile home had been there before) with some cement footing already in place that we were able to tie into for the foundation (with cement blocks in between). There was also a water hydrant and a power pole, so that saved us a little bit of expense.

The greenhouse arrived mostly in good shape. 2 of the roof supports were bent in shipping. We called and new ones were sent right away with no charge.

The instructions that came with the greenhouse were fairly clear. We did have some problems with some of it (another call ) but I think a lot of that was our inexperience with building procedures. There are some things we would do different, but right now are pretty pleased with the structure. The idea of a kit appealed to us because of our inexperience.

I don't know yet if we would buy another kit, I think we would like one bigger yet but for now this fit our budget. We wanted a greenhouse with the PCSS (8 mm polycarbonate) siding which was one of the biggest deciding factors in trying this kit. I won't be able to tell you how we like it as far as growing plants for a few months yet.

I would recommend this one to anyone that was building a backyard or hobby greenhouse. (Maybe not this big).

The one thing I know I would like to see changed is the door.
I think on the bigger greenhouse a wider door would be better. Everyone at your company I have talked to has been very helpful.

It does seem a little difficult to get hold of you by phone however.

Quality 16x30 (this is a huge kit)

NOTE: I totally agree about the door, in fact I am hoping to build a 16x30 for myself to use as a combination greenhouse/sunroom/hot tub gazebo and would like the wider door myself - we will see what we can do about future models

Also we have just implemented the 24 hour toll free order system, added staffing and the online help desk since we were starting to get a bit overwhelmed with the volume of calls and emails.

I want to thank everyone who takes the time to write in and tell us about their greenhouse kit. We always look forward to getting your emails and letters. As you can see from the comments posted on these pages we try to give the whole story - not just the compliments. We have made many changes to the website and the way that we do business based solely on these comments.

Please don't hesitate to let us know how your projects are going or how we could do a better job of presenting the best greenhouse kits to you and your friends.
